Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic and customer-focused Junior Project Manager to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will enhance your knowledge and skills through a structured development path supporting the planning, implementation, and coordination of medium to large projects that vary in complexity as well as having responsibility for your portfolio of small projects.

The Role

Our Sydney Operations team require a motivated individual based in Sydney to support the continued exceptional service and management of key projects.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning, managing, and coordinating small commercial projects of moderate complexity from award through completion of the project. Includes review of the scope of work, terms and conditions, including cost control, delivery fulfilment, and quality of service.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers on more complex commercial projects.
  • Coordinating the procurement of materials, supplies, and services necessary for timely, qualitative, and cost-effective completion of projects within budget.
  • Development of project implementation plans and schedules to meet Customer expectations.
  • Work with Sales colleagues and/or write detailed change order proposals as necessary.
  • Effectively communicating project requirements to the project team and management. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing internal and external reports.

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

  • Excellent communication skills – ability to prepare effective written communications.
  • Attention to detail – ability to manage, and review documents, procedures, and reports to identify issues/errors and opportunities.
  • Experience in a Project Engineering or Project Management role.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships, collaborate, persuade and influence.
  • Proactive, ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong financial analytical skills including cost control.
  • Willingness to take ownership of the role and take initiative and learn new tasks.
  • Adaptability – respond effectively to changes in situations or new information, be open and willing to learn new things and take on new challenges
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of previous, relevant engineering, field service or project management experience preferred.
