Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and customer-focused Project Engineer to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will have responsibility for project engineering tasks, programming, troubleshooting, and project documentation (creation, updating, completion), of assigned Global Accounts projects which are primarily larger and more complex.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • The application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, and project documentation (creation, updating, completion), of assigned Global Accounts projects which are primarily larger and more complex.  
  • In-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications, and contracts to determine and advise on overall project requirements.
  • Providing input, and reviews and may prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams, based on project plans and specifications, showing the location of devices, equipment, wiring etc.
  • Advising Project Manager and/or Sales regarding appropriate products needed for installation, identifying any issues on product lines on an ongoing basis to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Assisting project managers in preparing and/or reviewing formal submittal booklets, containing schematics, and technical literature as necessary to support each contract.  May be required to perform other Project Manager duties as needed.
  • Prepares databases and job-related programming for computer-based systems.

What You Will Need

  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to electronic security systems, building automation systems, fire alarm systems.
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD and/or viewing software; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of five years of previous, relevant Security Industry is desired
  • Product specific certifications
  • Experience in a Data Centre environment will be highly regarded
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
